Fair Trader
Fair Trader is a retail co-op based in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. Owned and democratically run by over 640 members, they develop and promote Fair trade for a more equal world, working in solidarity with the International co-op movement and those who believe in environmental and social responsibility, and caring for communities.
Products sold are from various suppliers with a high economic impact: All the products are imported on fair-trade terms. For example, Aura Que Design make ethically handmade goods and provide much-needed jobs in an area hit hard by earthquakes. Dark Woods Coffee import Fair-trade coffee beans from India, Brazil, Columbia, Peru and Rwanda as well as other countries. Stellar Organic Winery was the world’s first Fairtrade-certified organic wine and they are the largest producer of fine, organic, fair-trade wine in South Africa.
